SAIA ENDORSED INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION – SECOND PLACE: Soweto Freedom Square Johannesburg South Africa 2002
Team: Henri Comrie led a small team in this collaborative effort with Paragon Architects (Henning Rasmuss) and Green Inc Landscape Architects (Anton Comrie).
Second-placed entry in an an open competition with Stanley Saitowitz (USA) as main adjudicator. As well as proposing a design for the building, the submission included a framework for the surrounding area, which suffers from a lack of cohesion and integration.
